Huzzah, look what arrived this afternoon just as I was about to go run errands. Thank you @lynnsenpai.bsky.social for #15yearsofrain . These will go join @amazonchique.bsky.social 's Cheer Up Love & Pompoms, Rebecca Burgess' How To Be Ace & a couple others on my "supporting LGBT storytellers" shelf.

The Place Where It Is Currently Not Raining - Fractallicious958 - Rain (Webcomic) [Archive of Our Own] An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works

Wasn't sure about drawing something but I wanted to do something for #15YearsOfRain so I wrote a short mini fic in the universe (and also involving Deltarune lol).

Rain has meant so much to me for many years...

I was supposed to finish this by the 29th, but life happened. Still, I hope you like it.

A painted clay model head of rain.

Got over ambitious and was only able to finish her head, and not near as well as I'd like. Thank you so so much for a story that has helped me more than I can say. #15YearsOfRain

A pixel art comic tribute to #15YearsOfRain. The first panel is Rain on her first day of senior year, telling herself "I can do this..." The next three panels are various readers discovering the comic; through the print edition, reading online, hearing from a friend. The fifth panel is those same three readers facing the camera in the midst of their own transition or coming out; one wearing a dress and a wig, another with HRT pills in hand, telling themselves "I can do this..." The sixth and final panel is much larger, spanning the entire width of the comic. It shows today's Rain with an umbrella behind her, looking toward the sky. Behind her is a growing sea of umbrellas, representing the many readers inspired by the comic's message, saying "I can do this..." to themselves as they follow in Rain's footsteps.

I didn't discover Rain until after I transitioned, but I still recall my first read, clicking through "just one more chapter" until I was sobbing through the final pages at 3:00 AM. Many thanks to @lynnsenpai.bsky.social for providing representation and inspiration for us all. 💜💖 #15YearsOfRain

#15YearsOfRain I'm not very active on social media, but I wanted to share my piece. I was in sophomore year of high school when I found Rain, and those were some of the worst years of my life as a closeted trans girl in Texas. This one story is why I am here living now as a woman. Thank you Jocelyn.

Thank you @lynnsenpai.bsky.social for giving us a source of positive representation at a time when we struggled to find any.
Your art has been a constant inspiration to us since we found it over a decade ago. 💜

Happy #15YearsOfRain

An image of Rain (as she is depicted at the end of the comic) holding out her hand from underneath her umbrella to check for falling rain. The storm has passed however, and the skies are clear and blue.

Took me a while, but I managed to finish this just in time for #15YearsOfRain.
One of the few web-comics I've read from beginning to end, and one that taught and entertained me so much over the years.
Thank you Jocelyn for all your amazing work ^_^

#15YearsOfRain Picture shows "Year 15 Rain" hanging out with "Year 1 Rain."

On this day, fifteen years ago, I started a silly little webcomic called Rain, about a trans girl doing her best to be herself in high school. I wasn't sure I was going to stick with it. I wasn't sure anyone but me would even care. It was the kind of story I needed but didn't have when I was growing up, but being the only trans person I knew at the time, I was admittedly expecting it wouldn't click for anyone else.

I was wrong.

Queer folks have told me they came out after reading it. Trans folks told me they started transition after reading it. Cis folks told me they better understood the queer and trans people in their lives after reading it. Folks of all kinds figured themselves out after reading it. And more than once, I've been told by folks that they're still here because of it.

It's a lot to take in. It often feels like more praise than I deserve, considering the simplistic art, and frequently overly verbose dialogue. But it also means the world to me that it resonated so much with people. I'm so grateful that the story I needed meant so much to so many other people. It's more than I could've ever asked for.

So thank you to everyone who's ever read it, and everyone who will read it someday. You're the reason I could keep at it. You're the reason I was able to finish it. You're the reason I'll be able to release the final physical volume very soon. I started this because I wanted it, but I couldn't have finished it without you!

Thank you for your ongoing support. In return, I hope I can continue to help you laugh and smile and grow.

For the past month I've REALLY wanted to do a piece of 15th anniversary fanart for #15yearsofrain . It's a wonderful trans webcomic by @lynnsenpai.bsky.social with endearing characters & not only concluded after 12 years and 1200 strips, but had one overall complete storyline from beginning to end.

I started reading the webcomic 2 weeks ago and with the upcoming anniversary, I rushed some fanart for it :)

I did the RuIn breakup with Rudy’s running joke and almost posted without the text, I should probably go to bed.

A Battletech crusader painted up as Mad GigaKaizer from the webcomic "Rain" on the assumption that it's supposed to be gold.

An older Yu Jing figure from Infinity in purple and black with grey weapon and teal hair.

A "heroine in sensible shoes" adventurer in purple and black with teal hair holding up a lantern with some OSL.

A big game hunter with pink hair and light teal accents.

A bit more for #15yearsofRain! Sci-fi and fantasy adventure Rain, pulp adventurer Ky, and a "What if?" of Gavin's custom skin for his Battlemech-err, "CombatRobo" in "RoboJockey 5 Online."

A bit later than intended, but I threw this doodle together for #15YearsOfRain. I found the comic a bit after it had ended, but it had such a profound impact on me that I can't quite put into words.

(kinda wish i'd finished this earlier so i could've posted it on trans day of remembrance but)
