Women are explicitly left out of the #1776DeclarationOfIndependence #USconstitution and that is not a turn of phrase. #AbigailAdams and #JohnAdams have correspondence about it.

And some people are "property" in those documents. Arguably " #American" isn't an identity that such people should want.

Who is "we"? #WEthepeople" only ever meant #WhiteEthnostatists. The #1776DeclarationOfIndependence very clearly calls indigenous, Catholic Europeans, African descendants and women roughly what the Declaration does: "savages", untrustworthy race mixing "Papists", "property" and of no note at all.
