A significant portion of the value of a packaged game, published or PnP or whatever, is the collection of all the bits together, complete, in one box. This is especially true of #18xx games, which commonly have hundreds of track tiles and shares and tokens and would be a huge PITA to count out.

In the #18xx (generally), it is both the product of market activity (eg sales in SRs pushing the price down), and of company activity (eg payment or not of dividends). The two classes of price are usually of similar magnitudes over time, thus the resulting price at any time balances both factors.

A fantastic winter break game of 18India. Managed a win due to my fantastic routs and a 3x3 train paying out over $1300 an O.R. for the final 3 runs. I’ve missed playing #18xx a lot in the past two years. It was lovely to get one back to the table. #boardgames

Took me a while to figure this, but in practice you'll find that the train rush is faster in 18Mex with the 4s soft-rusting. Reason: players are a lot more willing to buy them when they know they're guaranteed to run at least once. #18xx

Without argument it is an #18xx game, you're breaking a core 18xx constraint: there are no more than two routes connecting any hex edge. The other base patterns include things like no more than 4 edges (for simple track) and 3-route tiles always having 3 edges vs 4 route tiles with 4.
Played a game of 18SJ. The incremental phase slows the game down IMO but we could probably push the trains faster.
3 companies got nationalized, 1 by design and 2 by accident. The yellow is helpful but maybe it guides the map to a similar shape every game?

Premier 1849 sur ma table. Assez étonné de voir la course aux trains ne pas aller à son terme, je ne pensais pas voir cette typologie de partie sur ce #18xx.
Le matériel est plutôt très bien, ils ont mis l'explication des privées au verso ! Par contre des couleurs de jetons trop proches...

The hardest thing I find in teaching the #18xx is how all the little rules and trains and track and routes and market movements etc don't matter so much, and really, it is all about managing & exploiting liquidity.

18XXc v3.16 is out. It brings support for 1899 DAIHAN, contributed by github.com/j-holub, a first time an user builds support for a game. Horray for that!
