You're hypnotized straight off with the opening track, Fade Into You--you remained locked in this dreamlike state through the rest of the ride, and what a ride it is. An all time album for me.

What if The Beatles broke up 7 months after REVOLVER? Within the niche of alt-country, this is still the genre's masterpiece. And yes we got Wilco & Son Volt out of the divorce, but the Tweedy/Farrar rivalry brought an energy that was never quite the same.

Day 20. The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
With all the loud guitars and pulsating beats, there’s always room for a little soul. Except this soul is jet black - delivering sermons that life’s shit and then you cry. Greg Dulli has one hell of a rasp though!

1. Nirvana - In Utero
Hearing this at 13 was intense. I was dealing with my own alienation and there's this world-famous guy basically saying "I'm not ok with all this either". Irrespective of the tragedy that followed, I still love this angry monster of an album.
