I've noticed more and more cards creeping past the $1 mark. Cards that averaged $0.50 are now $0.83. Budget staples like Blackblade Reforged up to $2.

As tariffs and uncertainty make #1DH more turbulent, I'm wondering if a shift to "Budget" and #PDH / #Pendragon is needed.

For nearly 4 years, my favorite #HalvarMtG deck has been a #1DH Ardenn-Esior list & it just got a 24-card update! The deluge of product & commander focus in recent years allowed some power & flexibility upgrades.

I have an Alesha, Who Smiles at Death #1DH aka "Dollar General" deck created 11/2019 that is out of date 6/2022.
Only 7 cards priced out of format but I'm sure lots of power creep past 2+ years, persist combo still relevant… h*ck, now I'm going to have to update them! archidekt.com/decks/298270...

While folks tear each other to shreds over repulsively expensive, game-breaking, cardstock rectangles, I will continue to play #1DH, #PDH, and budget variants, then sell everything I come across worth more than $5 because restriction breeds creativity and I have bills to pay.
