Days 276
Tuesday
Work has been a bit stressful, so today’s hour was doodling with the little one.

Days 275
Monday
Transferred some writing from a notebook into my Scriviner file. Retyping handwritten words allows then to sink in.

Days 274
Sunday
Simple Excel work, I’m beginning to notice a pattern.
I should get back to writing.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 273
Saturday
A little more Excel work, and then proofing pages.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 272
Friday
Creative Excel in the morning…
Doodling with the Little One in the evening.
Good day, overall.

Days 271
Thursday
More creative Excel work before actual work this morning. The suite is coming along bit by bit, or maybe that’s byte by byte.

Days 270
Wednesday
Creative Excel work tonight, programming my own custom Functions to keep the individual cells easy to read. Also a Select Case is so much cleaner than multiple nested If statements.

Days 269
Tuesday
Good evening of journaling, writing and reworking a synopsis. Found an alternative intro that better explains the character’s origin and emotional motivations. Looking forward to refining the narrative.

Days 258-268
Friday to Monday (+a week).
Hard to recap 10 days. Been building a little financial suite in Excel to do what Quicken can’t. Back to research, reading and planning on where my story is going. Lots of sketch time with the Little One.

Days 257
Thursday.
It was creative Me time today, it was a little programming and problem solving for work. It’s still creation and still fulfilling.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 256
Wednesday.
A little reading, a little walking and just thinking. A little drawing time with the little one.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 255
Tuesday.
Writing circle in the morning. Mostly re-reading old prose and making notes about needed changes. Also, new inspiration for a potential mystery series - lots of thinking to do.

Days 254
Monday.
Forgot to post last night. Mondays are Mondays, as always. Extra time at work, and then finishing up other tasks that should clear up the rest of the week. Didn’t even get a walk outside. Falling asleep last night thinking over narrative.

Days 253
Sunday.
Easing back in, spent a morning walk rethinking narrative changes that I need to address.
Later in the day a more technical bit of planning for an Excel project (long range financial planner).

Days 236-252
The rest of February.
This is the conclusion of a month with a complete lack of creative focus. Things that needed to get done, got done. Time was spent with family, and I don’t regret that part. Looking at going into March with a reset of perspective.

Days 235:
Wednesday, creative hour ended up being coloring time with the little one - and taking requests. “Apples” was a first for these sessions.

Days 220-234:
Two weeks of turbulence, neglect and not showing up.
Ultimately, it was a good chance to reset perspective, but it wasn’t planned.
Tonight on Tuesday 2/10, I was reading/researching, and things started to click again.
Looking forward to writing in the morning.

Days 218 & 219
Sunday was family day. We drove out up the canyon and had a nice outdoor walk.
Monday, writing circle before work. Distracted again so only about 100 words. But I remind myself, those words didn’t exist Sunday.

Days 217
Saturday
No writing of my own, but I went to a local panel discussion of California Writers on published authors (those who published in 2025). Good insight and lots to think about.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 216
Friday
Writing Circle this morning again. Only about 45 minutes of actual writing (and some distractions) but things started to click in new and exciting ways.

Days 215
Thursday
Writing Circle this morning. Was hard to focus for the first half, but wrote a few hundred words in the 2nd half hour.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 214
Wednesday
Writing Circle after work. Mostly re-reading to get a sense of where this scene fit in and what needed to happen. Only wrote a few words. Hoping for more tomorrow.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 213
Tuesday
Writing didn’t happen today. Got to spend some time with the little one now that I’m out of my self imposed cold-quarantine. Didn’t realize until this past week of exile how much I truly appreciate the time I get.

Days 212 (palindrome!)
Monday
Writing Circle this morning. Things were less flowing and more distracted. Maybe got 100 words. Don’t want to go back and count and be disappointed.
Will do it again tomorrow.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 210 & 211…
Saturday & Sunday
Back in the saddle. Writing Circle Sunday evening and nearly 500 new words. Felt like things were flowing again.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 208 & 209…
Thursday & Friday
Went down a Wikipedia rabbit-hole reading about Bronze Age civilizations. It counts as research.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Days 199-207…
Today is Wednesday
I’ve taken an unscheduled break. Something about the holidays and the new year has thrown my routine for a loop.
There was writing and processing, but not much.
Also, looking back I noticed that 194 got repeated, so correcting that now.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Day 197:
Monday, writing circle in the morning. Spent the time mostly on some necessary Scrivener clean up. Learning how to properly export & compile, as well as tags & status for organizing. It was a good session.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Day 195-196:
Saturday - was Saturday
Sunday, writing circle - focused on proofing and minor revisions/corrections.
#Motivation #1HourADay
Day 194-194:
Thursday, Happy New Year
Friday, a little journaling over at my website.
