Sun Bear's Medicine Wheel My 3rd apprentice came over to talk a couple of days ago. When most of the business was talked out, he suddenly asked if he could set up the Wheel. I said yes. I asked him if he knew which direction was East (before he started. The Wheel is directionally grounded.) He pulled up a digital compass on his phone. It amused me a lot. I keep a small traditional compass in my Go Bag. So, he gets oriented and I leave him to it. I had taught him the Medicine Wheel 2 years ago. After he finished, I walked him through how to remember how many stones and the placement with meanings. He didn't do too badly. I did suggest he reread his diagram from when I first taught it to him. I also explained how to place the Wheel for protection and then how to place it for healing.
My Elder chose to incorporate Sun Bear's Medicine Wheel into his lineage. He was friends with Sun Bear, so it made sense to me. I, now that I have apprentices of my own, teach it.
My 3rd apprentice asked to set this one up to test his memory. He connects strongly to Stone Medicine
