Truely inspired to spend the week with some amazing individuals doing amazing work. My spirit animal Monday was #Dragon, but the word I used at the end of the week was #humbled. If you say you can't find amazing UR talent, look no further than supporting @sacnas #2018LPSLI 4/4

Heard at #2018LPSLI "When my values align with the values of the organization, that is how you know to say yes."

Values heard here: family, the natural world, artistic expression, and the physical selves. An acknowledgement of the collective and the individual #leadership 3/n

Discussions on an #inclusive and ethical #science should start earlier. Undergraduate yeah, but earlier than that as well. Our K-12 teachers are often taking most of their science coursework at the undergraduate level, for example. #2018LPSLI

First big thought insight - let's talk about a #diverse, #innovative, and #ethical #Science. We seem to put discussions off until graduate school/post-doc

#2018LPSLI Dr. Joseph Garcia talks about frameworks for diversity: 1) Assimilation, 2) Tolerance 3) Inclusion/Appreciation. The latter is what we want really want to achieve in our organizations. #diversity #organizationalpsychology #Leadership

Good @SACNAS news - 2019 meeting is in Hawaii. Shocking SACNAS news: this is the last leadership institute unless they find new funding. Whaaaat? How can amazing programs like this not have sponsors begging to fund them to identify and produce STEM leaders?! #2018LPSLI #diversity

#Netwokring may not be a surprise to colleagues, but maybe to those who knew my as the shiest kid ever. On the flip side, my goal for self-improvement is to better lead groups with people that need extra processing time. To-do: read thinking fast/slow. #2018LPSLI #leadership 2/3

Wow, so a long day today for #2018LPSLI I got my 360 back. Do you think anyone would guess that #networking was my strength? @LouWoodley @snappity - I guess I do that "connecty thingy" pretty okay. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ 1/3

#2018lpsli opening/framing remarks includes Shirley Malcolm. "I'm 71...and if you do the math, you'll realize I went to high school in Birmingham, AL while it was segregated." 1/n
