A deserved win, the Red Roses get their 3rd title and everyone that's not English (me included) is crying now. Canada barely able to advance and link passes, wasting their few chances. The English defence stood strong and dominated the set pieces, specially the scrum

New Zealand saves face as they win their 2nd bronze in history. France opened with one of the best tries of the tournament before the Ferns let lose and began to rack tries up. When the French finally decided to react, it was already too late.

And that's 17 times in a row England defeats France. A game mostly played on the English half, with France advancing painfully slow just to lose the ball at the last moment and being sent back 40m to restart. Meanwhile, the Roses ruthless every time they stepped on the French 22.

The Red Roses at half power more than enough to deal with their neighbours.
Decent defence, but lineout not working and barely able to advance. And even so, for the Scots that's the best result against England since 2016.

Ireland with 17 (rain + wind helping them) but only getting 13 points from 40' of dominance. After HT the Irish said "you know, committing dumb errors looks like fun, let's copy them" & France manages to turn it around.

A bunch of errors from the Canadians and yet they managed to score 7 tries (+2 disallowed!) Their ruck speed is something else, has to be exhausting seeing them come at you again and again so fast. The Wallaroos attacking with all they had but the red defence so on point.

The sleeper has awakened. France dominates the Springbok with a masterclass of fast paced rugby, keeping the ball alive at all cost and not fearing the saffa scrum, because they where actually wining them at it. The South Africans overwhelmed, not able to hit back.

Many sloppy moments from the Black Ferns, but others of pure genius. The reining champions showing the Irish they still have some way to go before they can join the elite. The Irish unable to take advantage of their many chances, not only get nilled but also take some injuries.
Italy vs Brazil 64–3

Brazil ending with 13 players and still smiling. A match full of chaos where Italy where ruthless and taking out their frustration from past weeks defeats on the Yaras. Not sure if it will be enough to satisfy them though. Also, 12 tries for the Italians but only 2 converted.
Japan vs Spain 29–21

Japan defeats Spain for 3rd time this year with the same gameplan. The Spanish living on their 22 the whole game where good converting the few chances they had, but far from being enough. Japan struggling at the start to run the last meters changed after HT & get a deserved win
England vs Australia 47–7

Not sure if slow start for England or playing with their prey like a cat. The Wallaroos get into quarter-finals. With a very good 1st half they where leading the Red Roses for 30 minutes, a feat few teams can achieve. But after HT England came back on their own and smashed them.
Wales vs Fiji 25–28

A total thriller. Fiji defeats a 6N team for the 1st time. They didn't get points on the 2nd half, but managed to resist the Welsh comeback & looked good doing it. 4 converted tries for the Fijians, 5 unconverted for Wales. Kicking does matter and today Keira Bevan missed all.
USA vs Samoa 60–0

A 10 try win for the Eagles, but I'm not sure that's gonna be enough. They need England to defeat Australia for more than 75 points.
What they did manage was to stop Samoa from getting their try. Twice. I'm pretty sure that's gotta be illegal. Hope WR steps in to sanction them 😄

An incredibly good game from the Scots. Canada looking out of it for huge chunks of the match, but a couple minutes of brilliance per half where enough to get the win and secure the 1st position. Scotland now will have to face the Red Roses on quarter-finals 😨

South Africa defeats Italy for the first time and with that they are into a RWC playoff.
The Springbok massive scrum putting Italy in a lot of trouble but the Italians always coming back for more, but at the end a tiny bit short
New Zealand vs Japan 62–19

A bit messy and many handling errors (plus 2 yellow cards and a penalty try!) from the Ferns, but they are so absurdly overpowered they still put such big numbers on their opposition.
Ireland vs Spain 43–27

Ireland secure their place on playoffs. The Spanish, although struggled on the scrum, where truly competitive in all aspects of the game, but the Irish where always one step ahead.
Still kudos to Las Leonas, they surely made Ireland tremble a bit a few times.

What a banger. Twice where the Wallaroos 9 points up, and twice did the USA got back on their feet. Discipline and a couple distractions biting the Aussies on the butt.
The 2nd position of the group will be decided next week, most probably by point difference
