Being aroace spec myself, my characters kinda end up being aspec whether or not I planned for it. Kat's and Aaron's POVs had already been written when I found out I was aroace, so it was fun going back to them with that knowledge and seeing how their relationship already had aspec themes. It was important to me that Kat identify by name as demiromantic/ace because I didn't know those words until I was in college.
