The banner says "24 Days of Gift-Giving: Day 18" in green & red letters. In the background is a wrapped red bow, like one on a present, as if the banner itself is on a present box. The story says the following:
Today’s Prompt: Eighteen Aches (hurt/comfort dialogue prompts); “Please believe me, I will not leave you alone.”; “I care about you! Do you hear me?”
Characters: Glarence & Adiel
Other Info: n/a
__________
“I don’t know why you even travel with me,” Glarence muttered. “The way I treat you, how angry I get sometimes—you must hate me.”
“I don’t hate you,” Adiel reassured him. He squeezed Glarence’s hand and said, “You were the first real person I met in the backrooms, the one who confirmed to me that I wasn’t alone. You won’t get rid of me that easily, Glarence.”
Glarence shook his head. “Nah, that’s not true,” he insisted. “You’re going to leave me alone someday. I just know it.”
“I won’t leave you alone—I promise,” Adiel told him. “Please, believe me, ok?” He reached out and cupped Glarence’s cheek. “I care about you. Do you hear me? I care about you.”
Glarence smiled and put his hand over Adiel’s. “Thanks,” he muttered. “I. . . I appreciate it.”
Adiel smiled, and his hand retreated. “I’m glad, buddy. I’m glad.”

Today’s Prompt: Seventeen Snow Days; drinking hot chocolate
Characters: Uri & Kalcal
Other Info: A Uri & Kalcal story? That’s very rare! How exciting! C: Also, Kalcal is AuDHD, so I had to include him stimming at some point. He’s just like me for real.
__________
“Zenobos said it’s called ‘hot chocolate’,” Kalcal said to Uri, tearing open the packet of brown powder. He poured it into the pot of boiling water that Zenobos had set up above the fire. “Apparently it’s sweeter than almond water, and has . . . how did he describe it? A ‘rich’ flavor?”
Uri nodded, watching Kalcal stir the powder in with a stick. Kalcal then took the pot off of the stove and was about to take a sip of the contents, but Uri stopped him with a, “Wait, don’t! It’s very hot. . .”
Kalcal blinked and looked down at the pot. “Oh yeah, right!” he said with a laugh. “I guess we have to wait for a bit, huh?” He put the pot down on the ground and turned to Uri, stimming excitedly with his hands, which waved excitedly at his sides. “You wanna chat while the hot chocolate cools down?”
“Um, sure,” Uri agreed. “What do you want to talk about?”

Today’s Prompt: Sixteen Sinful Sentences; “The night’s definitely not over yet.”
Characters: Glarence & Carla (the main character)
Other Info: Post-Rtb. This is a kinky story featuring muzzles, collars, leashes, and a dom/sub dynamic. Keep in mind that Glarence is asexual & sex repulsed. Also btw, Salem chose the sinful sentence used in this story! Thank you Salem!
__________
“You sure you want to do this?” Carla asked Glarence. The two were currently sitting across from each other in bed.
Glarence nodded, his gray cheeks now bright blue thanks to his embarrassment. “Yeah,” he muttered. “I’m sure.”
Carla smiled. “It’s so rare to see you speechless. . . And with this, you won’t be able to talk back to me.”

Other Info: GIANT KALCAL! AND TINY ZENOBOS! So, basically, this is a domestic AU where Zenobos is literally a tiny person, around 4 inches tall. In case you don’t know, I love writing stories like this and have been doing so since I was very young. I asked folks in a sizey Discord I’m in which prompt to pick, and Salem suggested the prompt & the idea. Thanks Salem!
__________
Zenobos couldn’t help but feel pretty useless sometimes when chore day came around. After all, what could a tiny little guy like him do to clean a regular-sized house”? But Kalcal was always quick to reassure him that he was useful after all.
“You’re closer to the counter than me—you got a better eye for that kind of stuff!” Kalcal told him with a grin. “Who cares if it takes longer when you do it? If it’s cleaner, that’s a moot point, right?”
Thinking of this made Zenobos smile to himself as he scrubbed the outside of the microwave. He turned around and watched Kalcal finish the dishes. It took a moment for Kalcal to sense Zenobos was watching, but when he did, the giant grinned, put the last dish in the dishwasher, and came over, scooping Zenobos up from the counter.
Zenobos giggled as Kalcal planted a kiss on the top of his head. “Aw, Kalcal!” he exclaimed with a laugh.
“What?” Kalcal asked, hugging Zenobos close to his chest with his hand. “Can’t a guy say hi to the person he loves?”
Zenobos smiled and hugged Kalcal’s chest, feeling the giant’s heartbeat reverberate through him.
He’d never felt so warm & safe before.

__________
Kalcal was an adventurous person, and he couldn’t stay in one place for very long. So after the rain made his & Carla’s camping trip a bust, he suggested they pack up their things and spend the rest of their vacation exploring the area. Carla was hesitant at first, but after thinking it over, she agreed.
So, they went on the train to the next down over. “When we get there, we’ll look at Google Maps and see what we can find!” Kalcal said cheerfully. “It’ll be a blast!”
Carla smiled and put her head on Kalcal’s shoulder. With him, every day was a daring adventure, one she never would have gone on without him. And she was grateful for that.

The banner says "24 Days of Gift-Giving: Day 13" in green & red letters. In the background is a wrapped red bow, like one on a present, as if the banner itself is on a present box. The story says the following:
“No, I don’t really believe in love, Zenobos,” Glarence replied. The two of them were drinking almond water and resting in Level 36.
Upon hearing that, Zenobos’s face fell, and he looked quite sad. “Why not?” he asked.
Glarence scowled and replied, “Because I’ve tried it before, and it didn’t work out. Plus, people have these stupid expectations when you’re in love—it’s annoying, and I can’t do everything they want.”
“M-Maybe you were with the wrong person?” Zenobos suggested hesitantly. “People you love shouldn’t expect you to do things that you can’t do.”
Glarence sighed. “It’s not their fault—people just drift towards things they think everyone does. People have biases, even in the backrooms. It’s stupid.”
“Yeah, w-when you say it like that, it is kind of silly,” Zenobos agreed with a laugh. Then, he thought for a moment, and asked, “But don’t you love Adiel?”
Glarence turned toward him with a face of surprise & embarrassment. “What? Where the hell did you get that idea?!” he exclaimed.
Zenobos shrunk back. “S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to say anything wrong. . . It’s just the way you two talk to each other, I guess. You guys seem close.”
Glarence finished his almond water and put the bottle down, then folded his arms. “That’s different. It’s not romantic love,” he muttered. Then, he added, “Besides, if he did say he loved me, he’d just expect the same stupid things as everyone else.”
“Like what?” Zenobos asked curiously.
Glarence let out a long sigh. “Sex, Zenobos. I’m talking about sex.”

Today’s Prompt: Twelve Gift Ideas; Record player
Characters: Zenobos & Carla (the main character)
Other Info: Takes place post-RtB, after the timeline of the game.
__________
Zenobos gasped in surprise & delight upon seeing the gift Carla was holding. “I-Is that really for me?” he asked.
“Yeah,” she said with a smile, sitting down next to him and shyly holding out the box. “I know you’ve always wanted to see a real vinyl record player, and a real CD player, so I got a device that does both! Um, do you like it?”
“I love it,” Zenobos said, taking the box from her. He put an arm around Carla and said, “Thank you, Carla. This is really sweet.”
“I’m glad you like it, my love,” Carla replied, kissing the top of his head.

__________
When possible, Uri tried to sacrifice insignificant memories. What he ate for breakfast the other day. Things he thought about when he was bored. Stuff like that.
But sometimes, Manorial wanted more. “Sorry, idle thoughts like that aren’t going to cut it for me, Uri,” the cat would purr with a laugh. “If you want my help, I need something more . . . substantial.”
So, he would give memories that were more significant, trying to keep the others informed on what memory he was sacrificing. If he was lucky, it was something one of the others in the group was there for, and they could fill him in on what had happened later. Bring back the memory through their own experiences.
But other times, Manorial would ask for a memory only he & Uri was there for. Something nobody else had witnessed, and therefore, nobody else could bring back for him.
And Uri would give the memory. What choice did he have? Burying a memory in exchange for power—surely, it had to be worth it.

The sound of a ringing telephone pierced through Zenobos’s sleep. He looked around Level 4, blinking as he oriented himself, trying to locate the source of the noise. It was coming from down the hall. . .
Carla was still fast asleep. So Zenobos got up from the floor and left the cubicle they had made their sleeping quarters, walking down the hall and getting closer to the ringing. Finally, he found the source of the sound: it was a telephone in a different cubicle, not a modern office one, but an old rotary model.
Zenobos gulped, then picked up the phone, bringing it to his ear. “H-Hello?” he stammered.
“I’m coming for you,” an overly sweet voice said, laughing. “Just wait. I’ll be there soon.”
With that, they hung up with a click.
Zenobos put the phone down and raced back to Carla, shaking her awake. “We have to go,” he said, helping her up.
“Did something happen?” she asked.
“Something’s after us,” Zenobos explained. He grabbed his backpack from the floor and took out a sealed bottle of Liquid Pain. “Come on. We have to hurry.”

Uri wasn’t the type of guy who wanted adventure. It was the kind of thing that kept unfortunately coming to him, because that was what life in the backrooms was like, and he wanted peace & quiet more than anything. So when Carla suggested going on an adventure vacation, Uri was confused more than anything.
“Why would we do that?” he asked her.
“Well, I’ve noticed that you’ve lost a lot of confidence since Manorial left you,” she explained with a sympathetic expression. “I think it would be nice to have a fun getaway, and give you a chance to see how capable you are.”
“Come on, I’m not capable. . .” Uri mumbled.
“Yes you are,” Carla insisted, taking his hand. “Uri, you survived the backrooms—that makes you more capable than most people I know. And it wasn’t just Manorial’s skills that helped you survive—it was yours, too. And more than anything, I want you to see that.”
Uri nodded, taking this in. He looked into Carla’s eyes, and saw so much love & passion in her gaze—he could see how much she cared about him, and he smiled.
“Ok,” he agreed. “I suppose we can give it a try.”
Carla grinned. “Great! You won’t regret it."

The banner says "24 Days of Gift-Giving: Day 6" in green & red letters. In the background is a wrapped red bow, like one on a present, as if the banner itself is on a present box. The story says the following: Uri wasn’t the type of guy who wanted adventure. “I think it would be nice to have a fun getaway, and give you a chance to see how capable you are.” “Come on, I’m not capable. . .” Uri mumbled. “Yes you are,” Carla insisted, taking his hand. “Uri, you survived the backrooms—that makes you more capable than most people I know. Omg I never shared #24DaysOfGiftGiving Day 4! The prompt was "Four Flour Fails", with 4 baking-themed prompts. I chose the one centered around a baking competition and made an AU with Kalcal & Zenobos from #RomanceTheBackrooms !
