Afternoon game and we’re back to testing out the Goths. Only this time they’ve brought friends…! Sarmation cataphracts and horse archers. The Romans have reacted by bringing infantry vexilla together from various places and a lot of light cavalry. Let’s see what happens… #S&H #wargaming #2mm
In the end though, the Romans saw off a splintering British defence and ran them off the field of battle. The strong Brit left flank punched through but then couldn’t manoeuvre to re-attack the Romans whilst the individual Legions were able to overwhelm the warbands one on one. #S&H #wargaming #2mm

That was a close battle! Both side had effectively broken however, the Sasanians called it first! Using armoured horse archers as medium cavalry is very effective, especially against nomadic horse archers. Charging into the side of a cataphract unit is useful too… #S&H #spreadthlard #wargaming #2mm

Yes he can! As the Parthian horse archer flanks collapse, the cataphract centre is pushed back. Artabanus IV is still fighting hard but his cataphracts are either disrupted, being pushed back or out of the game. Historically accurate result wins out. Now to set it up again… #S&H #2mm #spreadthelard
