I joined the US ARMY in the summer of 97. I served under #DADT and did so as an out gay man if indigenous heritage. I served a country that told me time and time again that I was a #2ndClassCitizen. Why? Because I knew the nation, as imperfect as it is, is never beyond saving for OUR sake.
