Basic port character model to object in modeler is done. Fixed the texture mirroring, now the model can be textured asymmetrically in clip studio

These - like the other complex plants that come in clusters - take a while to build, but I think I found a good way of making individual sections (like stalks with leaves or the flowerheads) with Maya's MASH networks... #indiegamedev #3Dwip #3Dplants

Wip of the new model at Jan 5th, 2026. Took inspo from the pokemon snap n64 bulba model. I'll tweak the geometry a bit more in the future I think. #3dwip
Progress as of Jan 21st, 2026. Ended up remodelling Treecko cause I didn't like its silhouette (too primitive). Had to sacrifice joint articulation. I'm happy with the feet and tail detail while sticking to 256 tri.

Figuring out rigging for a quadruped for the first time (rigify). I still don't understand proper UV layout and texel density. Doing texture testing (looks jank cause I'm tweaking the mesh/uvs at the same time). #3dwip

Aimed for 256 tris but gardevoirs hair was driving me insane cause I could not simplify it without it looking bad at different angles. Contemplated doing a mid poly cel shaded style model (last pic) but tbh I don't want to finish #3dwip

Gastly and haunter are at/under 256 tri but I was having fun with gengar and modelling face details instead of texturing. Gengar is roughly rigged (manual). Low priority on finishing if at all #3dwip
256 tri Treecko (started Dec 29th, 2025)

Tried rigify for the first time (explosion of bones in first pic from trying super face lol). Tried pixel style compositing using edge detection and nodes in compositor.
