California Lawmaker Wants to Hardcode 3D Printers With 'Firearm Blocking' Tech The legislation is meant to prevent the proliferation of 3D-printed guns. But Adafruit, a provider of do-it-yourself computer parts, says it risks imposing 'useless surveillance software.'

This article makes me so mad. The algorithm would have to be so complex that it couldn't run on most #3Dprinters, would need to talk to an online service which most printers don't have access to, or dramatically increase the price of 3D printers. All of which are easily circumvented. This is stupid.
