Take local forces out of the equation entirely and have a national centre for actioning #3rdPartyReporting. For obstruction type incidents a phone app for reporting would be, imho, the most effective way of dealing with obstruction.

West Midlands Police started #3rdPartyReporting but after a while stopped actioning any of the reports, after a good bit of publicity they started again. @roadcc.bsky.social picked up a few articles about WMP and this added to the pressure.
West Midlands Police have just published Operation Snap #3rdPartyReporting data for September, October, November and December at the bottom of this page www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force...
West Midlands Police claim they can't tell us about any action taken on a Operation Snap #3rdPartyReporting report because it would violate GDPR. Yet they publish videos like this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ9D... If you've committed an offence why is a driving offence different from other offences?
Damn, that was a quick response from West Midlands Police. The driver will be invited to attend court to explain their driving (if they can be identified). In other news, reference number is almost 23,000 #3rdPartyReporting numbers continue to grow.
Just got an update on a report from West Midlands Police (most reports don't get updates now) with a reference number just short of 21,000. #3rdPartyReporting continues to grow.
#3rdPartyReporting data for May, June and July 2025 now available at www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force...
18% of reports actioned (court, fpn, education), very much looks like @westmidlandspolice.bsky.social have abandoned #3rdPartyReporting again. Just a few months back they were running adverts for it and publishing videos telling us how well it worked...
Warwickshire Police seem to give warning letters for just about any offence but sometimes they surprise me by actioning a report. Looking at the video I wouldn't have chosen to go to court to contest this (but they may not have had that choice). #3rdPartyReporting

West Midlands Police #3rdPartyReporting data available here www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force... First thing I see, there are 2024 reports 1311 of which were NFA due to "Outside of 14 days NIP" 64% NFA. @roadcc.bsky.social There appears to be a different category for late submissions
West Midlands Police #3rdPartyReporting #OpSnap data for April 2025 available at the bottom of this page www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force...
FOI request sent to West Midlands Police requesting the data for #3rdPartyReporting Operation Snap from April 2025 to date. I expect this request will be denied because it's exempt from the FOI act due to it being for future publication.
West Midlands Police have been sending FPNs (3 points and £100 fine) for parking on zig zags since they started taking #3rdPartyReporting seriously again but the last few I reported got driving courses.
Looking on www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force... for the latest #3rdPartyReporting data, I think it's time for a FOI request for everything after March 2025. Last FOI request, months back, was refused because they "plan to release quarterly".
Are you aware of any cyclist, either yourself or others, who've made a #3rdPartyReporting submission that resulted in a dangerous driving charge?
I've submitted a report that's beyond inconsiderate/careless that should go straight to court, so I just want to know, they do, sometimes.

#3rdPartyReporting continues to grow month after month with the biggest growth being pedestrians reporting incidents.
Time to have a look at some of the numbers from January/February/March 2025 for #3rdPartyReporting in West Midlands. You can download the data here and look at it yourself if you want to www.westmidlands.police.uk/police-force...

Gone from emails where unidentified incidents are "now under review" to no emails at all from West Midlands Police. Have they given up on #3rdPartyReporting again and are now trying to keep this quiet for as long as possible?
I wonder what sort of response I'll get from WMP for this...
Hopefully it won't just be one of those "We have received your submission to Nextbase.... we will progress the matter accordingly." emails.

As far as I'm aware the child stood in the passenger seat was dealt with, I reported it via #3rdPartyReporting. The bottle throwing was reported as an assault, it wasn't dealt with and WMP clearly didn't want to know.

I hope they realise how much publicity they'll get if they abandon #3rdPartyReporting, again.
Starting to get the impression that the #3rdPartyReporting team at West Midlands Police may be falling behind on processing reports again.
I remain convinced that West Midlands Police were shamed and embarrassed into restarting the processing of #3rdPartyReporting. Now they are releasing the data regularly it's easier to monitor what's happening.
Easy to lose motivation but look at West Midlands Police. First to have #3rdPartyReporting which worked well for a time then they stopped processing incidents, after much fuss and publicity a new team was put in place and last year they processed > 16,000 reports with the majority being actioned.
And here's the video youtu.be/gxBtFrtSgk0 Driver previously got 6 points via #3rdPartyReporting and thought I looked familiar, although he doesn't know who previously reported him, so threw a bottle at me.
Driver reported via #3rdPartyReporting got 6 points (I assume mobile phone use) so decides to throw a bottle at a random cyclist (he thought I looked familiar but wasn't really sure who'd previously reported him). He's now aware that there a consequences for throwing things too youtu.be/gxBtFrtSgk0
We have a result on this one, driver accepted a community resolution requiring him to write me an apology (it's a pretty good apology too). He'd previously got points after being reported via #3rdPartyReporting, saw me and thought I looked familiar so threw a bottle at me. Video soon.
