My #40daysofgratitude may have ended, but it is such a joyful and hopeful practice, and I want to take hold of all joy and hope I can, so I may have to find a new hashtag to keep it going.
#40daysofgratitude
Yesterday I was thankful for a bit of spring cleaning. Today I was thankful for the sacred calm and holy chaos of our Easter worship. #40daysofgratitude
On Monday I was thankful for a fun new game. Yesterday I was thankful for a wander round IKEA and a plan for the kids' bedrooms. Today I am thankful for Miri bringing me a glass of water and reading me a story when I said I didn't feel well. #40daysofgratitude
Yesterday I was thankful for some sterling productivity. Today I was thankful for conversation and clay with some of the younger members of our church family. #40daysofgratitude
On Wednesday I was thankful for a lovely wreath making workshop. Yesterday I was thankful for the privilege of supporting university staff through the Bereavement Journey. And today I was thankful for sharing some Easter hope. #40daysofgratitude
Yesterday I was thankful for a positive parents evening for both kids. Today I was thankful to wake up smiling from a dream in which I had been telling someone about people finding faith and sanctuary at our church. #40daysofgratitude
Today I am thankful for a successful church AGM, which left me feeling encouraged and enthused, and gave the church two brand new deacons. #40daysofgratitude
Yesterday I was thankful for good friends. Today I was thankful for the first picnic of the year, which included some spring biscuit decorating. #40daysofgratitude
A hardback copy of the book Tortall A Spy's Guide by Tamora Pierce. It has a black cover with two crossed keys on the front.
Day 31
I keep forgetting to post these on here, but I thought my fellow author friends might appreciate this one.
It's an out of print book by my very favourite author. I've been looking for a copy for years, and finally found one on Vinted. I can't wait to read it! 😃
#40DaysOfGratitude
On Tuesday I was thankful for the fun of playing tooth fairy as Miri lost her first tooth. Yesterday I was thankful for conversation and prayer with house group. Today I am thankful for the sunshine. #40daysofgratitude
Amanda, a middle aged white woman with long, dark auburn hair is sitting in the garden in front of a wall and fence with a climbing rise and bug house on them. She is wearing a pale blue dress with pink flower print and tintm.d glasses. She also has drop earrings with painted red dragon wings on the
40 Days of Gratitude | Day 29
Today I am grateful for a beautiful, sunny day 😎
We've managed to do a bit of gardening, and now I am reclining in a chair in the shade to rest whilst listening to the birds. Bliss.

Giving thanks for our @thegarthma.bsky.social weekday masses #40daysofgratitude #lent
Today I am thankful for an afternoon nap after being kicked out of bed by a sleepwalking fove year old. #40daysofgratitude
Also this poem by David Gate which pretty much sums up parenting. #40daysofgratitude
A handwritten message that says: Dear mum I'm so lucky to have a mother as generous as you Love from Oscar Xxoox
Day 26
Today is Mother's Day in the UK. This was what O wrote in my card 🥹
O was only 3 when I got sick with ME/CFS. He doesn't remember a non-sick version of me. And I often grieve for all the things we've lost. But it turns out he's more focused on other parts of who I am 🥰
#40DaysOfGratitude
Yesterday I was thankful for being able to visit my kids' school for Mother's Day activities. Today I am thankful for a lovely trip to the cinema with them. #40daysofgratitude
On Tuesday I was thankful for a good bit of sorting. Yesterday I was thankful for Eddie's pride in showing his church to his friends as I hosted his year for a visit. And today I am thankful for quiet moments in which I've completed this rather lovely paint by numbers. #40daysofgratitude
The book, A Girl Behind Dark Glasses by Jessica Taylor-Bearman. The books cover is white with a greyscale photo of a white girl wearing sunglasses. Her hair is turning into tint colourful butterflies.
Day 22
I started reading this today.
It's been on my TBR for a couple of years. I kept putting it off as I know I'm going to find it a really tough read.
But this week a friend offered to buddy read with me, so we can discuss it as I read. And I am so so grateful for that 🥰

The grey base of an old guinea pig cage sits on a metal stand in the corner between two windows. It is full of green leaves with a couple if orange flowers starting to appear.
Day 21
I'm still sick, but it's a gorgeous day, which reminded me how grateful I am for this mini garden.
It sits right outside my window, and looks after itself. I can see flowers from my bed, as well as birds looking for worms.
In a couple of months it'll be full of blooms
#40DaysOfGratitude
Today I am thankful for having two working toilets again. #40daysofgratitude
A plastic container of chocolate cornflakes clusters from the Co-op
Day 20
I have a cold 😭 so I'm grateful that when I went to the Co-op to get lemon and honey for my tea, I found these on offer too ☺️
These are my favourite naughty little treat. Yes, they're cheaper to make, but on days like this I need the easiest option. And they're yummy 😋
#40DaysOfGratitude
Today I am thankful for an afternoon nap and eating a roast dinner in my pyjamas. #40daysofgratitude
Amanda, a white, middle aged woman with long dark auburn hair and dark brown eyes is sitting in bed using a massager that is wrapped around her shoulders and held in place by arm straps.
Day 19
Today I am really grateful for this massager. My back and shoulders are so tense and sore, and being able to slowly work at the muscles this way is so helpful. Even if it does hurt like fuck 😫
#40DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for finding a few things I've been looking for. Even if I still haven't found my marriage certificate. #40daysofgratitude
I interrupt my #40daysofgratitude to ask, if you were my marriage certificate, where would you be hiding?
An old style Kindle sits on a slanted wooden stand which sits on top of a bed. There is a paperback book half hidden by the stand, and a Kindle Fire on a stand further down the bed in the background.
Day 18
Today I'm grateful for the reading stand @theajane.bsky.social gave me for Valentine's Day 🥰
I have an ARC of Lightguard by Hayley Turner I really need to finish before it's published on 24th March! And this means I can recline and be comfortably supported as I read ☺️
#40DaysOfGratitude
A white dinner plate with half a pork pie, some potato salad, a vegetable salad, chopped avocado and tomato, and some basil.
Day 17
I'm posting this a day late 😳 I took this photo yesterday lunchtime, but then got so caught up in book admin that I totally forgot.
Anyway, Spring is almost here, and so it felt time to have the first "salad-y" meal of the year 😃
#40DaysOfGratitude
Today I am thankful for being able to worship with women from at least five churches for the World Day of Prayer. #40daysofgratitude
I'm very unlucky with my health, and it is a constant battle to survive. But I'm also incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many reminders of the people, stories, and support that keep me going. Especially on these particularly bad days.
