I’ve been out of 40k for a few years now. Chatted with a friend and all terrain is set sizes now?
12”x6”, 10”x5” and 6”x4”? What about number of floors?
I see lots of L-walls on rectangular templates??

I knocked up some scatter pieces as well. In addition to the rocky outcrops there was, a tarped fuel/stores area, a Hades drill with accompanying dumper vehicle, a sentinel power lifter, half FW, and half scratch built bits. Plus smaller items like lights, pump, bucket...

It was a fun project.
Couldn't keep it alas, no room to store such a large piece of terrain, so had to break it up for other projects.

The core was 50mm thick foam, I built it up to form the rock around a styrene Necron 'wing'. The panels were to match up to Realm of Battle boards.
I also cut into the foam to create the area where someone had dug down.

It was pretty damn big with a core made from simple polystyrene tiles, glued and pinned, then covered in a rough texture.
The landing pad itself was styrene sheets. Plenty of details were added. Dark scheme to match the boards (done by someone else), with snow & tufts.

Centre piece for a board's worth of terrain I built for a Games Day participation game, in 2008.
Set up was an underground Inquisition base. Terrain had hidden access points, this large rock had a disguised landing pad that had been exposed.

Let's carry on with terrain.
For the panels with extended hills I built them out with foam then I sculpted rock faces using milliput before texturing to match the other boards. They can be arranged end to end either way round.
