There’s a weird area of the draft in the 5-10 range where there are guys with talent but serious flaws. The 8 pick is always in the range. Collin Sexton is inexplicably one of the best #8s. 11-15 is probably better in most drafts. More settling for high floors with occasional ceiling breakthroughs.

It’s not about being overstretched, it’s about who we have left to manage it when we are. We got rid of two backup #8s in favour of someone who Mikel knew wasn’t ready to carry the load were we to suffer a big injury. That has too quickly led to overly-makeshift solutions and being spread thin.
