Unofficial extension to Alps2Ocean #cycling #A2O from Oamaru head towards beach road South to the old coast road.
Yes the one blocked to cars but excellent for cycling or walking. This is the real ocean bit of the ride. If Oamaru council had any vision they would be promoting this.

I recommend the chips.
Year #cycling Distance Goal is 3000k on my MTB. 711.3 needed for This month to reach the target. Good news is I’m only 472k behind plan now and 2 big weeks should sort that. 80% off road and so harder to do.
Quite probably a bad thing to do (showing numbers) but i need to keep up the momentum for December.
Slightly easier than Nov. i had sone injuries early in the year then winter in the south happened.

Ive been coming here for 4 years to ride #A2O It just needs information to make it less stressful. Parking nearby for half a day while i ride. But where is safe?

The bike rack cant take any bikes with 29” wheels which is all if them so far today.
Macjenzie Council very proud of #A2O as they should be.

6 bikes that can’t use the rack so far and ‘its only 9:30 am in Twizel?

This afternoons ride. A loop down the old coast road and the to the end of Holmes wharf in Oamaru because that is the real ocean part. #A2O #cycling

Karma is real. Sun shining so back out there. 700k in 3 weeks do double the actual trail length. Not all of that on A2O but most.
