Sociologist Pranab Kharel is a researcher at Martin Chautari, an NGO that promotes the public sphere in Nepal. The interdisciplinary and border-crossing nature of #AASInAsia2025 sessions meant that Kharel got to check out panels on China and East Asia!
Manqing Zhang came to #AASInAsia2025 from the University of Kyoto to share her research about environmental policy in China, on a panel of presentations discussing social issues faced by the country's rural population.
Traveling to Kathmandu from Kyoto University, Kisho Tsuchiya and Dom Roongruang both enjoyed the networking aspect of #AASInAsia2025. Whether it's your first AAS conference or fiftieth, making connections with colleagues is always one of the best parts!
