Something needs to be said: the staff and volunteers at @aaslh.org are simply amazing! The conference was flawless. Everything worked. Managing a gathering for over 1000 people, including food, transportation, events, panels, and more is not easy. So congratulations on a job well done! #aaslh2025

Final day at #AASLH2025, spending the morning facilitating a session for CEOs about managing political pressure at history museums. Should be easy! 😬

Gooooooooooood morning, AASLH! What are you excited about today? I’m starting today attending the Policy Potluck session. Policies keep a museum stable, especially in times of stress. @aaslh.org #aaslh2025

The museum asks us in times of evil, when hate is on the rise, what will you do?

This museum is truly exceptional. It is worth your time to visit.

Learn. Remember. Act.

Localize, personalize, and humanize the telling of history.

It is not easy material, but it is necessary. It is personal and relatable.

They also embody the idea of being an upstander, not a bystander. We all have a duty to confront evil. We must remember the worst of the past to ensure it never happens again because #NeverAgsin is now @aaslh.org #aaslh2025

The Holocaust exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Centre is a must-visit. Their motto is that they localize, personalize, and humanize the history. They tell the story through Cincinnati residents who survived. The exhibit design is exceptional and easy to understand (1/n) @aaslh.org #aaslh2025

Wonderful #aaslh2025 event at the Underground Railroad Freedom Centre. They look back at history, and use it to inspire people to work for a fairer, more just future. They discuss the role of faith in being inclusive and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend a visit! @aaslh.org

awe and respect for the people who created them. Beyond that, and this is just a personal reflection, there is a spiritual feel in the air. These are not just historic but sacred places that deserve universal respect. Thank you to @aaslh.org and the National Park Service! #aaslh2025

Today I was fortunate to be able to take a tour to Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. It is a series of Native sites created about 2,000 years ago as part of a cross-cultural spiritual movement. The look of earthen mounds belies an exacting mathematical precision. In a more serious vein, what do you hope to get out of #aaslh2025? What is the most pressing issue facing museums today? What do you hope to learn? This is our conference, let’s make the most of it. @aaslh.org #museum
