A ★★½ review of A Better Tomorrow II (1987) Jeez, talk of your escalation coming across as a bit of an issue. I mean there is still some very solid action in here, the climatic shootout, while very absurd as hell, still is a glorious ballet of ...

Saw John Woo's #ABetterTomorrowII: Whilst it does deliver some good action and performances like the first, the story felt like it was pushing the envelope in a rather dreary way. My ⭐⭐1/2 review

Today’s viewing: #ABetterTomorrowII (Woo, 1987) a direct sequel that reunites the cast from first film with Chow Yun-fat playing the twin brother of his character from the first film. A perfect example of HongKong action thriller with Woo’s frenetic body counts in a story of counterfeiters. #filmsky

Even Chow Yun-Fat seems to be at times just parodying his portrayal from the first film in the series. Shame really 'cos the action sequences are definitely a lot more noteworthy here. Otherwise and overall definitely pales in comparison to the first one. #ABetterTomorrowII 📽️🎞️

#ABetterTomorrowII is definitely a LOT more violent than the first film. Esp. the film's final showdown. Very John Woo-esque to put it mildly! But that's basically the only good thing I've to say about this. I'd dare to claim that it's actually atrociously bad at its worst. 📽️🎞️
