Twitter post from Yumi Agawa promoting my article about ARG. Yumi portrayed the character Kikyo for the better part of 5 years in ARG. As one of the most experienced actors in the company Yumi would often be leaned upon for dialogue heavy parts in the various productions. Yumi was studying psychology at university in the early 2000s when she decided to change paths and pursue acting. She was in a drama club as a teenager but said she never consciously thought about being a professional actor. Her family always knew & expected her to make that decision all along. She is the only member of that drama club who went on professionally (9-12 members not sure). She recently appeared in a Bic Camera commercial shopping for a vacuum cleaner & was the lead in the film “My Depression Monster” but that’s actually not a great translation of the title but this all off the top of my head. Around 60 stage plays and various tv + film roles Yumi has many goals left she wants to achieve so she’s going to focus on acting more for the time being. Of all the roles she’s played, Kikyo is the closet to real life Yumi. The sister or mother hen who everyone in her orbit relies upon is Yumi Agawa. Being helpful is practically her destiny because she has said - "Yumi" is "Yu (help from God)" and "Mi (future)" My parents want me to become a child who "helps the future"
