Today was my last required co-lead to become a level 2 (and since I meet the requirements, level 3) trip leader for ADK. We did Black Mountain by Lake George. This is a lovely hike in general, and one that I will willing do over and over.

So, I went in to Panther Gorge. The trail in was in pretty good condition. It's obviously a lesser used trail, but overall not bad for an ADK trail. Very oddly well marked though. I took a fall on the way in, so my plans to hit Haystack, Marcy, and Skylight fell through.

Phelps and Indian Falls June 8, 2025
We started the day by getting a strange view due to the Canadian wildfires happening. The sun when we left was a glowing red/orange orb that you could look directly at. Really freaky, other worldly sight.

No pictures of the hike today, but went up Cascade after stewarding the trailhead all day. There were reports of light snow in the morning, by the time I got to the top around 445, it was all gone.

🧵 #ADKHiking Saturday 2-22 I and Wendy did Hough, aka Hough and Puff. It lived up to it's name for sure. This peak is one of the more remote peaks in the Dix range, and really is the worst peak to orphan as there is no quick and easy way to get there. I orphaned it 2 years ago, and this was my

🧵 #ADKHiking Going into this hike, I knew it was going to be a challenge. Dix is the 6th highest peak at 4857 feet. The last mile you climb 1600 feet and hit a slope of at least 50%. It is steep. We also went in with no idea what condition the trail was going to be in . There had been snow a couple
