I was going to write up my experience at #lsa2025 #ads2025 but it's been a month now, I still haven't gotten around to it, and memory is fading rapidly.
I think the one takeaway I have is maybe @kirbyconrod.bsky.social's notion of pronouns as honorifics. Still noodling on that one.
It’s fun to catch up with friends at #LSA2025 & #ADS2025, and WOTY is always a highlight.
But nothing will beat @mkb933.bsky.social GIVING A TALK ON SOMEONE ELSE’S BEHALF (not a coauthor!), on short notice, while chairing the session, and then taking questions to pass on to authors.

Coming back to my room from the #woty2024 nominations session at #ads2025, I stopped by the hotel and got a couple of slices of pizza at the hotel convenience store, not realizing that I needed to ask how big they were, because when I sat down to eat I found each "slice" was a quarter pizza.

Already experiencing my first #lsa2025 #ads2025 scheduling conflict and the conference hasn't even started yet! Waiting for the 3:00 psycholx/gender session to start, but I'll only see the first talk because the ADS session starts at 3:30 with a talk about the "the" isogloss in California highways.
