Promising Practices for Teaching K-12 AI. Begin in early elementary school—Build a foundation using hands-on, engaging experiences. Use supportive tools—Tools help make complex topics accessible to students, and provide interactive learning experiences that do not require programming to implement. Prepare students to be critical consumers, responsible creators, and informed citizens—AI education is for everyone, not just those who will work as AI specialists.
How do we ensure all K-12 students have a foundational grasp on artificial intelligence? Learn more about #AILearningPriorities: csteachers.org/ai-priorities/ #AI4K12

Goals for a Foundational AI Education. All K-12 students should be able to: Understand how AI technologies work and recognize where AI might be used. Use and critically evaluate AI systems, including their societal impacts and ethical considerations. Create – and not just consume – AI technologies responsibly. Be innovative and persistent in solving problems with AI.
Foundational K-12 AI education will support students in developing positive identities as informed citizens, critical consumers, and responsible creators of AI.

Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed an unprecedented expansion in artificial intelligence. 85% of computer science teachers believe that a foundational CS experience should include using and learning about Al. 42% (less than half) of CS teachers feel equipped to teach about Al. csteachers.org/ai-priorities
To ensure every student is prepared for a world powered by computing, a foundational AI education needs to be top priority. But what do K-12 students need to know?

Looking at CSTA and AI4K12's report on AI learning priorities.
I nitpick AI stuff, but the abuse of "reasoning" here is kinda like, really bad for a doc about learning AI. I feel it misrepresents important details of AI, & over-anthropomorphizes.

"Teaching young people, . . . from marginalized groups how to intervene in the AI generation process is one strategy. Teaching them how to collect and categorize their own data, and train their own AI models is another approach."
