Last week AIIC held its triennial Assembly in Lima Peru. AIIC USA was present with a delegation of 22 interpreters in Lima, and 100+ members on line and represented by proxy. AIIC USA members offer top quality services everywhere there is an important event. #aiiclima2025

This kind of messaging requires a LOT of effort to stay on top of posts, comments, and questions. But it's so worth it!
(Said as a person who has been working on AIIC's social media for years...)
The local organizers of #AIICLima2025 have found a lovely venue for the meeting.
And the Assembly organizers are making sure we have many short breaks throughout the day, along with a healthy lunch.
Which means our networking is certainly facilitated!
So, how many of us at #AIICLima2025 are following using all the documents, just as we would if we were working as interpreters?
At #AIICLima2025 we have a team of volunteer interpreters who will help us all understand what is said during the meeting in English, French, and Spanish.

The Gala opening of #AIICLima2025 took place at the #HuacaPucilana, where we saw (and tasted) more potato varieties than even the Belgians have seen, against a stunning backdrop.
We got to see colleagues we haven't seen in person for years - if ever!

AIIC is run via regions & sectors: everyone belongs to 1 region, but may work in more than 1 sector.
For ex, I work in the Private Market, UN, & Coordinated Organization sectors but am based in the Belgian region.
We are talking commonalities now.
