(Book review) >Loving Thy Neighbor< 4.5 stars - Oh, the love/hate relationship between neighbors Lydia Karels and Broderick DeVries, or Brode<i>dick</i> as Lydia sometimes refers to him, is highly entertaining. 😂😂 Add wine and her bestie and things get even funnier. -- Book quote “He is so hot. I don’t care how mad he ever made me. I would hate-fuck him so good.” A chuckle sounded from the other side of the door. I grabbed Phoebe’s hand and tugged her toward my place. “No more wine for you.” --Lydia Karels and her BFF Phoebe I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all of the banter. I love how the high ground was taken more often than the low blows, but neither proved to be perfect. That made me love them all the more. This is my third book from this writing duo and I can't wait to read more! The characters are relatable and awkwardly funny. The relationships are realistic and full of sizzle. I definitely recommend their work! ❤🍆🔥 >UPDATED 5/2025:< I loved revisiting this book. (Book review) >Heat & Humor< Lucinda "Indy" Scott and Nicholas "Cal" Callan are FIRE... and absolutely hilarious. I love their chemistry, the misunderstandings, and how they correct course. Naughty times in the office ratchet up the heat level! 🥵🔥 Another thing I love is how they poke fun of the way they met. Even though it is very unconventional, they make it special in their own way. 🩷😁 -- Book quote 'I hated to admit it, but he was the perfect man for me in the bedroom. I loved it when a man took charge, but I had no desire to be anyone’s submissive. I loved reading about BDSM, but in real life, I didn’t like being controlled.' -- Indy Scott In addition to an engaging story, one thing these authors always manage to do well is include fantastic supporting characters. Be it family, friends, etc, they always lend an extra spark to the book. That's definitely the case here. Truly, I loved this and couldn't stop listening. I kind of read along with the audio book. I mean, there were things to do, and I couldn't turn it off, so I had to skim through a good chunk of the book to catch up to the audio. So. Worth. It. The narrators, Heather Firth and Alex Knox, are great. I really enjoyed the narration. Of course, with writing like this, they had it easy. 😉 (BTW - that is in no way meant to diminish their work; I'm attempting to be funny and hope that comes through.) 🎧❤️‍🔥🎧 Story: 5 stars Narration: 4 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x H = 38; h = 31
