Young thin, tall, deciduous trees, fill the foreground and mid ground with the camerataking the picture from a low vintage point upwards, causing the perspective on the trees to merge towards center. The ground is brown leaves mixed with fern and other small deciduous plants.
Broken pieces of brown leaves and bark with a few gray sticks mixed in provide the background for a tree trunk on the left side of the picture. The tree trunk has moss which extends down along the roots and ground. The moss is darker green on the tree and bright green, where the sun is hitting it near the ground.A medium sized gray rock is near the tree trunk and has small mountains of moss, wrapping three sides of the rock like a hand, gripping it. The upper right corner has green, vegetation and trunks of trees, small and close.
