One more #aadamjacobsaudioarchive post, since my policy is if I witnessed it, I post it, even if (as the notes indicate) the audio is less than great: archive.org/details/ajc0...
#aadamjacobsaudioarchive just posted this show from a year later, from the same venue: archive.org/details/ajc0...
"The One I Love" 1986 >>>> 1987
This AOL show popped up on the #aadamjacobsaudioarchive today, and as is my usual policy, if I witnessed it, I'll post it: archive.org/details/ajc0...

If you want to hear a band covering songs by 3 different artists whose names start with "B" and end with "les", the
#aadamjacobsaudioarchive has something for you

This near-complete cover of THE WALL is a blast, hoot, etc.

Based on this they were an excellent punk rock band. 2 women with a dude on drums. Discogs says they barely released anything officially so this might be the best documentation we've got.
The audience recording of this famous SY show landed in the #aadamjacobsaudioarchive yesterday. Unlike the official release, it includes the soundcheck.
I will need to play both versions back to back, for research purposes.

Among the all-covers sets in the #aadamjacobsaudioarchive this one of yacht-adjacent easy listening tunes sticks out. It includes this Starbuck tune faithful enough to include a mallet solo.

I figure this was an ad-hoc group of Chicago scene folks but I don't know.
GBV played Chicago 3 times in 1994, and if you're keeping track, this was the one when Kim Deal jumped on stage to harmonize on "Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory" (!!!)

As items arrive in the #aadamjacobsaudioarchive feed I'm adding shows with potentially interesting cover tunes to this list: archive.org/details/@dre...
The early front-runner for most-covered song is "I Wanna Destroy You"
The guy shouting "play something off the ten inch, idiot!" after "Frontwards" is our generation's "Judas!"

Two days later, I'd see them play Lounge Ax, and hey #aadamjacobsaudioarchive put that one up today too!

#aadamjacobsaudioarchive put up some 1992 Pavement shows today, including this one I witnessed at one of Madison's many venues that would eventually burn down

A good day for #aadamjacobsaudioarchive uploads! Like this Neutral Milk Hotel show from 1997 at Lounge Ax. I was there and honestly don't remember them, uh, rocking as hard as this.

The #aadamjacobsaudioarchive added a bunch of Yo La Tengo today, including this show from a Sunday afternoon in 1993 with the band in "fakebook" mode

Another #aadamjacobsaudioarchive post of a show I attended: Slint in 2014. I haven't listened yet, but can you hear me yelling for "Cortez the Killer" (which they did not play)?

I expect to post links to a lot more shows from archive.org/details/aada... as they come in.
I'll use the hashtag #AadamJacobsAudioArchive so you can mute them (but I encourage you to not do that)
Don't think we're getting a 30th anniversary reissue of the greatest American rock album of 1994[*] but the #AadamJacobsAudioArchive putting the Grifters' final Chicago live show[**] up will do
archive.org/details/0162...
[*] "Crappin You Negative" by the Grifters of course
[**] Yes I was there
