This is a landscape photo of Blanca Peak at the southernmost edge of the Rocky Mountains. The bottom third of the frame is dried yellow grass and brush typical of the high plains. On the left is a small leafless shrub tree and in the middle is its older brother or sister, standing larger and more prominent. Under the tree and to the right is a ramshackle home that has clearly been abandoned for quite a long time. It is made of wood plans varying in color from light grey to dark brown. It has a single opening for a missing door and two windows on the right of the door and a third on the left side. The door is on the right third of the home. It has a low porch that spans the front of the home. Both the land and the home are sitting in front of Blanca Peak, an imposing structure that takes up the rest of the free except for the blue sky in the top ten percent of it. The mountain is green and brown with snow covered peaks above the treeline. It is made up of steep ridges at the top with clear structures for snow melt and water flow. Running across the bottom of the mountains and behind the house are telephone or power lines that never stopped here. Seeing this structure makes me wonder about the story. Who lived here and when and what happened? There are only questions.
I missed the #BlueSkyArtShow window for #AbandonedThings because I was out shooting this abandoned shack/home? outside the town of Blanca, #Colorado & calling Blanca Peak it's neighbor.

Deep in the forests of the Haliburton Highlands, sits a rusted out shell of a TTC streetcar. It was used as a dining car by lumber workers in the winter and a tool shed during the summer in the 1950's.
