A heavily weathered and rusted vintage wood stove on a beach. It has shells on the top and there is foliage and little yellow flowers behind it. It is likely a model similar to those produced by Fisher Stoves in the past. Condition: The stove is severely oxidized with deep rust, indicating it has been exposed to the elements for a long period. Design: Features a basic box shape with a front-loading door, characteristic of older, non-EPA certified airtight designs. Potential Use: Given its condition, it is best suited for decorative garden art or repurposed as an outdoor fire pit. Thank you Google Lens!

Didn't REALLY know what its purpose was/is until now (searched Google Lens) It looks like some kind of stove or heater... but is/was probably used as a beach fire pit.

We'd gone way-y-y out into the desert to possibly do a location shoot of an individual who is particularly fond of the desert & desolate terrain of our salt flats. My body decided to painfully intervene. (I did successfully medicate & gained some relief.) But we wound up just exploring and having fascinating fun along an abandoned railroad siding. There were middens everywhere containing the castoffs of former settlement & workers of days gone by. We'd find plenty of curiosities above ground, as well as protruding from the sun baked salt, sand & gravel. We'd occasionally dig in order to possibly find an unique item worthy of keeping. In this framing, looking down at hardened ground of gravel are splinters & shards of sun-bleached wood. On the left is a rusted iron shim or part of a broken tool, of an odd shape akin to perhaps a half of a flat, metal hourglass. On the right is a severely rusted, large piece of rail iron -obviously the end of a sizable piece of a rail protruding up, out of the ground at an angle. Their juxtaposition caught my eye. Enjoy. It's an image of a very-very hard land, and a visual echo of human habitation given back over to nature's recycling & its desert climate harshness.

Two toilet bowls complete with cisterns, one with its seat up, have been placed side by side up against (rather ironically) a bright blue dumpster ("skip" for the British) in an outdoor parking lot (in a remote location). Another blue dumpster blocks them in together with a wire fence in front with weeds at the bottom. A hint of two other vehicles, one a yellow truck, and a large sign that looks like it has a map of the are as well as information.

A rusty framed sewing machine with the maker’s name, JONES, in wrought iron in the central area above the foot treadle. The large wheel that turned the machinery that sat on a table above, is pictured at the right. The device has long sat on the brick paved area in our yard by a pond and been repurposed to carry plant pots. The green plastic wheel at the end is a hosepipe holder that is stored next to the sewing machine. Summer Snowflake plants grow through the lower section with their little white flowers on long thin green leaves. Weeds poke through the bricks on the floor. Camera: iPhone 15 Pro
