The infamous federal penitentiary #Alcatraz closed on #ThisDayInHistory in 1963, becoming a museum. Its main prison wing was built in 1910, and by the '60s it was woefully out of date and expensive. Our reality-show president said in May 2025 that he's ordered it to be reopened.
