A ginger, long haired, Highland cow with large upturned horns chews on hay from a bale in a feeding station. Behind the cow is rough long grass, yellow flowering gorse bushes and trees in the distance.

Looking west along the driftwood strewn tide line of a steeply banked pebble beach. In the distance a tree topped cliff rises up from the beach and the sea stretches to the clear horizon.

Taking advantage of the great weather in South #Wales this week. Nice walk at #ParcSlip nature reserve where the couple of #HighlandCattle do a great job at maintaining the habitat. Also a walk along #Aberthaw beach where they're busy dismantling what was once the dirtiest power station in the UK.

A view of sea (to the left) and sky (above). A concrete sea wall leads off from centre of the bottom of the frame to the far distance to the right. A gravel path is to the right of the wall. To the left, a stony sandy beach slopes down to the grey sea. Beyond the sea is land - England. The sky above is getting dark and mottled with high cloud. It’s approaching sunset.

In honour of it being Friday yesterday, my #biketooter route home avoided my nemesis section of main road by crossing the river Thaw at its mouth - which meant an off-road section round the front of Aberthaw power station. I’m running out of evening light for […]

#OnThisDay 1913 Taff Vale Railway stationmaster W Carn injured his ribs at #Aberthaw booking office, #Glamorgan, #Wales.

He stood on a stool, to get a pad of memo forms from a shelf.

The stool overturned & Carn fell across the fire stove.

Ok, we’re in the United Kingdom. The scene is mostly grey stone. The roof is thatched. It’s a classic British pub, but a bit too close to see the whole of it. In the left foreground is a pint glass with dark beer and a creamy head. It’s Theakstons Old Peculier. Will I stay for a second? There’s a bike in the frame, obscured by a wall. The drop handlebars and saddle are visible.

Oh dear. Half day at work and my #bike just stopped at the Blue Anchor in #Aberthaw. Must get that fixed. #Biketooter
