A ginger, long haired, Highland cow with large upturned horns chews on hay from a bale in a feeding station. Behind the cow is rough long grass, yellow flowering gorse bushes and trees in the distance.

Looking west along the driftwood strewn tide line of a steeply banked pebble beach. In the distance a tree topped cliff rises up from the beach and the sea stretches to the clear horizon.

Taking advantage of the great weather in South #Wales this week. Nice walk at #ParcSlip nature reserve where the couple of #HighlandCattle do a great job at maintaining the habitat. Also a walk along #Aberthaw beach where they're busy dismantling what was once the dirtiest power station in the UK.

Have you met our highland cows at Parc Slip?! 🐮

Hamish and Dougal do great job grazing the reserve, helping to boost plant biodiversity in turn supporting a huge range of species!

A robin watches me on a moss covered branch. Lot of foot traffic on this path so it is easy to get the zoom lens on the bird.

Keeping an eye out. The moss covering the trees here are superb but also not rained in a while and it is showing. The stream is just s trickle. This nature reserve is on the site of an old coal mine.

Took the opportunity to get out on the bike today. Despite the rain fallen trees and limited visibility, the Wildlife Trust’s Parc Slip near Bridgend was looking fantastic as always. #Tondu #ParcSlip #Bridgend #Wildlife #Scenery #Cycling #BikeLife #Sunday #Wales #Cymru

5 ⭐️ #SlowWays route from #Pyle to #Sarn passing through the amazing #ParcSlip #Nature reserve. A reclaimed mine with a sad history when 112 miners died from an explosion in 1892. There is an amazing memorial with 112 stones built into a structure to remember each of the deaths.
