Dr. Abu Safiya’s defiance was instrumental in enabling over 450,000 Palestinians to remain in northern Gaza and resist forced displacement. During this period, he lost most of his medical team. His son Ibrahim was killed, his other son Idris was shot, and his family home was completely demolished. Despite holding foreign citizenship that would have allowed him safe passage out of Gaza, he refused to leave, choosing instead to stand by his people. He was eventually detained by Israeli forces, and his whereabouts remain unknown. The hospital was later set on fire and put out of service. This 45-minute documentary captures a rare story of courage and moral clarity — the story of a doctor who stood firm in the face of war, fulfilling his duty with unwavering commitment until the very end.
