We are at the #AccessibleEU event celebrating the European #AccessibilityAct.

The Act is an important step. But we need more:
- Enforcement of the Act and efforts of businesses are essential to make it a reality.
- EU funding for disability inclusion must be strengthened in the next #EUBudget.

“We run automated tests on all apps submitted to the Play Store and give recommendations to developers. We're also working on something like the nutrition labels that Apple recently introduced”, says Christopher Patnoe of Google #AccessibleEU

Peter Korn of Amazon said they were already rolling out accessibility features, EAA helped them speed it up, it functioned as a tailwind #AccessibleEU

Andreea Calbeaza of Microsoft says they have used the EAA as a way to innovate more in accessibility, and that she hopes it won't stop here and companies continue to do so.

I hope it too (would like to see less layoffs in accessibility) #AccessibleEU

so far they're not shying away from enforcing the theme, with panelists going on and off stage on Europe and Queen #AccessibleEU
