Dr. Erika Slate (the girl with the glasses) is impressed by the steel-made Mother’s Day card that Rusty (the redhead) and Big Guy worked on for her. Rusty did the writing while Big Guy carved and engraved it out.

I mean, Dr. Slate is like a mother to Rusty in the show, so I think it works here.
