Being whisked along to Wells Cathedral, this #AdoorableDoor belonging to the elegant C18th residence at Number 1, Cathedral Green caught my eye.
Door with fanlight & ornamented cast-iron glazing bars; framed by Doric columns, full entablature & pediment. Lamp & overthrow. @portaspeciosa.bsky.social
Many cheers for Historic England's listing description pinning down this very #AdoorableDoor in Clerkenwell.
No 27: round-arched doorways with reeded doorframes, lion mask stops, mutule cornice-heads, patterned radial fanlights & panelled doors. No 27 with lamp-holder incorporated in fanlight.💫
The rather adorable C14 #Adoorabledoor at Ashington in Somerset. There is an early very faint inscription on the door that is sadly indecipherable - so far.
An open #Adoorabledoor at Beckley, Oxon, warm, sunny weather, no mow May rolled over to June and only the sound of faint birdsong to break the silence save a trapped bee now also grateful for the welcoming exit into the churchyard.
North elevation. North transept #StMaryChepstow
An eerie sense of the Romanesque even down to the modillions and oculus but chancel and transepts were built C19 and so look closely and you can see the fine Romanesque style has been parodically over-embellished #AdoorableDoor?
Another #AdoorableDoor from. #AbbeyDore
