If you don’t care about what your child was literally created from and care about them knowing that and their family, history, and heritage - then you don’t really care about the child. That’s not being a parent - that’s being an abuser.

I was sad that the name my mother was going to give me was not put on my original birth certificate but now I’m glad because it would’ve just been one more thing my adopters would have taken from me and kept for themselves. My name is one of the first things I have they didn’t.
