The AfDB gives relatively more grants for energy projects than many multilateral development banks do — reflecting the severity of the #DebtCrisis in Africa.

2024 saw AfDB approve many more risky projects, including large wind, hydro and transmission projects that fail to adequately protect local people and nature.
