Recently, I replied to someone on Instagram, sharing my personal experience of working with Spaniards while living in Europe. I mentioned how, despite how strongly some Dominicans align themselves with their Spanish roots, Spaniards don’t necessarily view us the same way. Instead, they see us, the colonized, as a “lesser” or “uncultured” version of them.
