Count yourself lucky that you get to enjoy it. We had a whole week of it but were blanketed in Canadian #WildfireSmoke for the entirety with #AirQualityAlerts so couldn't enjoy any of it.

The challenge is that it isn't always just #Wildfire #Smoke with #Particulates that causes #AirQualityAlerts sometimes it is #Ozone too. And that is a challenge to come up with analogies. But Cigarettes with the smoke & particulates is always a good one. Messaging on that has been strong & effective

OK, local #TwinCities #Meteorologists need to do MUCH better job w/ #AirQualityAlerts. Be more specific about warnings like they are with weather warnings (get to your basements NOW!). Warning ALL ppl to stay inside or wear masks if they have to be outside when red. cc: @serwewx.bsky.social
