And now some REAL music! #NowSpinning Thorgeir Stubø - Flight (Hot Club Records). Fellow Arctic Norwegian native that sadly died way too young. In his day one of Norway's premier jazz musicians. Great swinging jazz! #Albums1986

#NowSpinning Jim Diamond - Desire for Freedom (A&M). Last spin of this before it’s being purged. Loved Diamond when he were in PhD with Tony Hymas, but his solo stuff never reached the same heights. #Albums1986

#NowSpinning Iggy Pop - Blah-Blah-Blah (A&M Records). Iggy Pop collaborates with David Bowie and Steve Jones (of Sex Pistols) to create a solid synth pop/rock album. Quite like this one, but not essential listening. #Albums1986 ⭐⭐⭐1/2

G'day! #NowSpinning Lee Ritenour - Earth Run (GRP). Gotta love that SynthAxe Guitar of which Lee and Allan Holdsworth were early, but brief, adopters of. Decent album if you're in the mood for #fuzak, but noting essential. #Albums1986 ⭐⭐⭐

FRIDAY!!! #NowSpinninng Megadeth - Peace Sells.... But Who's Buying? (Capitol). At this point Metallica was arguably the better trash outfit. In your face metal, but lacking the progressive element that made Dave Mustaine & Co superstars in the early 1990s. #Albums1986 ⭐⭐⭐1/2

#Albums1986 The Vanguards - Comanchero (Rainbow Music). Norway's finest Shadows band, active since 1961, fronted by Norway's finest guitarist of all time, Terje Rypdal. Stellar 60s retro rock for when you're in the mood.

#Albums1986 Violent Femmes - The Blind Leading The Naked (Slash). A playful potpourri of styles, from glam to Patti Smith inspired punk. I really like it, perhaps even more as it was regarded as a sellout album (music snobbery at its worst!)

#Albums1986. My record collection currently holds 58 LPs, 152 CDs and just 7 MCs from '86. I'm hoping to purge at least 25% of those. We'll see. Goal is to own only the Top 20-30 for each year on vinyl. Let's go!
