My copy of #Island (the #AlistairMacLeod short story collection), is a few short stories short. So I checked online for a more recent edition of Island, and one will be released in July - with introduction written by #KateBeaton (I can’t think of anyone more qualified/appropriate for that honour)! Ⓐ

With regard to the recent interview of #KateBeaton (for the #CBCRadio show #TheNextChapter) I chuckled when Beaton mentioned her mom has an old copy of #TheLostSaltGiftOfBlood (by #AlistairMacLeod). And so does my mom! My copy of #Island contains MOST of MacLeod’s short stories - I must read it! Ⓐ

I feel like some of my reading was dragging me down, not fulfilling my love for reading. I went to my shelves for older #CanLit to help reset my reading.

I cannot say enough of how great it is to be in the hands of the master of the short story.
