In my latest editorial cartoon, a UH rainbow warriors fan stands outside a newly-redeveloped football stadium with three different options for corporate branding displayed. Option 1: Zippy's Stadium Option 2: Snorkel Bob's Stadium Option 3: Itchy Butt Stadium Yes, that third one is a real company. A Korean fried chicken joint in Honolulu that is actually way better than Zippy's. If we're going to sell the soul of Aloha for a few million bucks in sponsorship revenue, why not go all out? At least the food would be great at Itchy Butt Stadium.
"By Any Other Name"
I drew a cartoon of what happens if we let corporations name the new Aloha Stadium. It involves Zippy’s, Snorkel Bob’s, and a truly upsetting amount of albeit delicious garlic chicken from a favorite Keʻeaumoku Street eatery.
