Threads of love
Calling of the heart

Love washed off the shores
across oceans,
S A L T
kissed by an angel
or many,
T H R E A D S of love
flutter
answering
to penitence
of the forlorn - U S, seafaring loners.

the crows
become the
shadows

scattered
by the winds

while night
slowly uncoils

and the moon
my mistress

summons
my attention

drawing
my every
fiber

deeper
into her
unknown

soft wishes in moonlight
linger like the taste of a kiss
sweet with honeyed wine
until dawn comes and reveals
them as faded dreams of
a hopeless romantic

fulfilment lost to chance
ethereal shooting stars pass
in the night - and again
she finds herself watching
the stars and making a wish
