Amazon Polly launches more synthetic generative voices Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of seven highly expressive Amazon Polly Generative voices in English, French, Polish and Dutch. Amazon Polly is a fully-managed service that turns text into lifelike speech, enabling developers and builders to speechify their applications for conversational AI or for speech content creation. We are excited to share that Amazon Polly today launches one new male-sounding generative voice: Canadian French - Liam together with six new female-sounding generative voices: US English - Salli, Belgian French - Isabelle, French - Celine, Canadian French - Gabrielle, Polish - Ola, and Polish - Ewa. This launch expands the number of voices available on Polly's Generative TTS engine to twenty-seven diverse voices. With this release, Polly now offers six male-sounding voices (Canadian French - Liam, French - Rémi, German - Daniel, US Spanish - Pedro, Spain Spanish - Sergio, and Mexico Spanish - Andrés) that speak multiple languages while maintaining the same vocal identity as the US English voice Matthew. Having the same voice identity while speaking multiple languages natively enables customers to switch from one language to another while preserving brand identity across regions/locales. This is made possible by Amazon Polly’s GenAI-based polyglot capability, where a single voice is able to synthesize speech in multiple languages. All generative voices are accessible in the US East (North Virginia), Europe (Frankfurt), and US West (Oregon) regions and complement the other types of voices that are already available in the same regions. Amazon Polly is a service that turns text into lifelike speech, allowing you to create applications that talk and to build entirely new categories of speech-enabled products. Jasmine is our first voice for the Singaporean variant of English. Even though Singaporean English is reported to be close to British English, there are some unique pronunciation patterns that we captured while training this voice, such as pronunciation of telephone numbers or postal codes, to make sure that Jasmine sounds like a local speaker. With this launch, we continue building a variety of voice and language options for Amazon Polly customers. Jasmine and all the other NTTS voices are available in AWS regions supporting Neural TTS. Amazon Polly is a managed service that turns text into lifelike speech, allowing you to create applications that talk and to build speech-enabled products depending on your business needs. The generative engine is Amazon Polly's most advanced text-to-speech (TTS) model. Today, we release six new synthetic female-sounding generative voices: i.e., Ayanda (South African English), Léa (French), Lucia (European Spanish), Lupe (American Spanish), Mía (Mexican Spanish), and Vicki (German). This launch increases the number of generative Polly voices from seven to thirteen and expands our footprint from three to nine locales. Leveraging the same Gen-AI technology that powered the English generative voices, Polly now supports German, Spanish, and French to provide our customers with more options of highly expressive and engaging voices.
