A dark, intense fever-dream--easily one of the best movies of the 1980s. A few seconds of Mickey Rourke's ass got it into hot water with the MPAA but that just helped build its audience.

And let's not forget that given the talent, charisma and looks that Mickey Rourke still had in the 80s he's truly one of the primest examples of someone squandering the opportunities he'd been given. Could've been a genuine screen legend! #AngelHeart 📽️🎞️

#AngelHeart obviously lacks bit of its punch the second time around since you're aware of what's going to happen, esp. with regard to the big revelation in the film's finale, but the performances, the visual aesthetics and the mood still work like a charm. 📽️🎞️
